A Wedding Do-Over

I've been working in the wedding industry for over 10 years now, and I've seen countless weddings come and go, each with unique details and personal touches that make them special. However, there are a few things that I've learned along the way that I wish I had known before my own wedding. In this blog post, I'll be sharing how I would redo my wedding now, armed with all the knowledge I've gained from my years in the industry.

The first thing I would do differently is to hire a day-of coordinator. When I got married, I thought I could handle everything myself, but looking back, I wish I had delegated some of the tasks to someone else. It's essential to have someone who can take care of the logistics on the day of your wedding so that you can enjoy the day without worrying about anything going wrong.

The second thing I would change is the venue. I would choose a space that is unique, historic, and inspiring, with an outdoor footprint and built-in ambiance that fits my vibe and theme. I've seen so many beautiful weddings take place in unique locations like botanical gardens, historic estates, and outdoor venues with stunning views. Your venue sets the tone for your entire wedding, so it's essential to choose a location that speaks to you as a couple.

Next, I would focus on the details that represent me and my partner. Whether it's a signature cocktail based on your favorite drink or a live band that plays your favorite songs, it's important to incorporate personal touches that make your wedding feel like you. Think about the things that make you and your partner unique, and find ways to incorporate them into your wedding day.

Another thing I would do differently is to focus on quality over quantity. It's easy to get caught up in all the details of a wedding and want to include everything, but it's essential to remember that less is often more. Don't invite anyone that doesn't personally matter to you. Instead, focus on creating an intimate celebration surrounded by the people who love and support you both.

Finally, I would make sure to have fun! Weddings can be stressful, but it's important to remember that the day is about celebrating the love between two people. So make sure to take a breath, relax, and enjoy each moment.

In conclusion, there are many things I would do differently if I were to redo my wedding now, armed with all the knowledge I've gained from my years in the industry. From hiring a day-of coordinator to focusing on personal details and choosing a unique venue, there are many ways to make your wedding feel like a reflection of you and your partner.
